Financial Stabilization Assistance
To be eligible for the Individual and Family Stabilization Program fund you need to show proof of residency in the Pettengill House services area of Amesbury, Byfield, Groveland, Merrimac, Newbury, Newburyport, Rowley, Salisbury, West Newbury Mass. Funding is limited and is provide on a need basis and must show sustainable household income.
If you are in need of financial assistance for basic needs (i.e. housing, food, clothing, healthcare, transportation, childcare, etc.) please contact your Pettengill House Social Worker directly to discuss resources and eligibility.

Pettengill House provides a safety net of emergency financial assistance for struggling individuals and families to help them get by while working on more sustainable solutions for stabilization. This assistance is need-based, and may be in the form of a month's rent, a utility bill, a medical bill, or a voucher for transportation to a doctor's appointment. Funds are paid directly to the vendor.

The program was created by Congress to help meet the needs of hungry and homeless people throughout the United States and its territories by allocating federal funds for the provision of food and shelter.
Eligibility
To be eligible to receive a grant, the applicant must occupy a property and be a client of Pettengill House catchment area (Amesbury Byfield, Groveland, Merrimac, Newbury, Newburyport, Rowley, Salisbury and West Newbury, MA. and have a household income that is no greater than 80% of the area median income (AMI). Please refer to 80% AMI chart at the bottom of this page.

Newburyport Emergency Rental Assistance
The purpose of the Emergency Rental Assistance Program is to provide short term relief to low and moderate income individuals and families whose incomes have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The City of Newburyport, through its Affordable Housing Trust, will be providing grants to financially assist qualified households during this crisis. The City of Newburyport has partnered with the Pettengill House, Inc. to administer the rental assistance program.

Amesbury and Salisbury Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
The purpose of the Community Development Block Grant is to provide qualified at-risk, low income and underserved elders, children and families / clients of The Pettengill House, Inc. with financial supports to improve family stabilization and provide basic needs to identified individuals, children, and families.
